Everybody's Talking

Everybody's talking,
city's burning down.
All the dreams are walking,
getting out of town.
Station house is crowded
with the lost
and with the found.
Everybody's talking,
city's burning down

Everybody's talking,
marching in the street.
Some have shoes
and some have boots
and some, they have no feet.
Some ain't paid the heating bill
and now they have no heat.
Everybody's talking,
marching in the street.

Everybody's talking,
no one's paying rent.
Teller lines are squawking
but the money's all been spent.
Churches and the temples
keep on calling to repent.
Everybody's talking,
no one's paying rent.

Everybody's talking,
Someone has to die.
Bogeyman are stalking
anyone who meets their eye.
Boys and girls wonder
If they still know how to cry.
Everybody's talking
Someone has to die.
